The Women of 7Adinkras                                 Our Projects                                 Women & Creativity

The Daddy’s Girl Writing Workshop is free and open to women of all ages.  As women, we aim to encourage and empower our relationships with men through intentional writing.

Using an ancient African principle called “sankofa”,  we reach back into our past in order to gain knowledge, strength, and understanding so that we can journey forward with greater love and success in our relationships with the men in our lives.

Writing and sharing is one way to gain a deeper, more profound level of knowing ourselves in more intimate and honest ways.

  • Childhood vs. adult views of our fathers

  • Unearthing the childhood wounds (and joys) that affect our adulthood relationships

  • Subconscious attraction to or fear of men who remind us of our fathers

  • Connecting our Daddy-Daughter experiences to our current relationships

  • Healing from the past to heal our relationships today

  • Valuing the lessons we’ve learned from Daddy

We want to hear your story, for possible inclusion in the Daddy’s Girl anthology and the companion  documentary. Click here if you would like to submit your essay online.

Currently, we do not have any workshops scheduled.  Thank you to all those who participated in our 2006 workshops.
