Documentaries: A Tool for Activism

I truly love the editing process, learning and being creative.

Recently, a need was brought to my attention where a school was having difficulties, and another concerned parent invited me to take a closer look at the school that my child was attending. At the moment, I had misplaced my digital camera and told her that I would bring my camcorder. At first it might have sounded like overkill; however, the story that unfolded soon turned into a documentary that replaced the written word for a moment, and caught the attention of the public's eye. It is said that:

WE REMEMBER
10% of what we read
20% of what we hear
30% of what we see
50% of what we see and hear

I am now a believer that can say by experience that documentaries truly can be used as a tool for activism.

I am looking forward to our continued journey in the 7Adinkras productions.
