Africa was intense

Hey, it's Nadirah:

I'm in Plymouth, England, a few days before Thanksgiving. I think I've recovered from four African countries in 10 days. It was intense. I left with some great stories and story ideas. I even had the opportunity to do some field producing for a network while there.

It got a little stressful and crazy there for a minute interviewing people. There was some cursing and screaming and even some hitting -- with me on the receiving end. I was really pretty shocked. But I got my interviews and made my deadline. I kept my eyes on the prize. And insanity was coming from the Americans not the Africans. Strong women trying to do their thing seemed to be a real trial for a couple of the men on the trip. And they were shown up to be quite small and cowardly by their acts.

I am so thankful for the sisterly environ of 7Adinkras. Can't wait to get back and analyze some of the situations I navigated. To be fair, there were other people, including wonderful, dignified men, who totally had my back when others became unraveled.

Africa was wonderful. Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana. All unique. All welcoming. All complex. I just touched the surface. There's positive and negative. But it's an indescribable feeling to be welcomed there -- personally and professionally.
